One third of the Maltese electorate voted yesterday. However 8805 voting documents remained unclaimed – a very high figure for Maltese local council elections.
On Saturday 12th March 2005, voting took place in 21 localities including Ta' Xbiex in Malta for the Local Council elections. Malta has 68 local councils, and voting takes place every three years.
