17th and 18th November 1999 are the days when the Leonid Meteor
shower (actually debris from the tail of the Comet Tuttle) is to be visible, in Malta and the rest of Europe. To view the shooting
stars you should look towards the south-east. Satellite operators are worried
that the shower will cause some damage to their circuitry. In case it is cloudy, you
can visit the NASA site which should have a webcam you can watch. This event
occurs every 33 years. This is a web itinerary on the subject.
