MNR RADIO | FEATURED SINGER: DAWN MARIE CHMIEL
| CHOOSE THE INTERNET MP3 RADIO YOU WISH TO LISTEN TO | Listen to Maltese Music Listen to MNR Internet radio Songs of Praise PROFILE:

At the age of 11, Dawn Marie Chmiel was already a church organist. She sang at school in musicals. She graduated
in Police Science in 1985. She turned down a job as police officer and married her husband in 1991.
She kept being involved in the choirs at St Stanislaus and St Theresa in Rochester, New York, USA.
She has used her talents of singing, playing the piano and organ, which God gave her, ceaselessly.
The words she sung were not just words, but a true prayer to God. They became a prayer of comfort for
families at funerals, they became prayers of rejoicing at weddings and prayers of true belief in the
Holy Eucharist at every Mass.
She says it is not her voice but it is God working through her. He alone has given her this gift
as He has given to each of us a gift. Her desire is to always use the voice He has given her to praise Him
and hopefully, to bring His people closer to Him.
From 1986 until 2001, Dawn was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and was cantor, soloist and secondary organist there
throughout those years as well as Music Coordinator from 1998 until 2001. For the past ten years, she also sung at
St. Ann’s Chapel, at the St. Ann’s Community, in Rochester, NY for funerals and special liturgies and in 2000, she became
the Music Director there. She has also served at Our Lady of Victory, Church of the Annunciation, St. Charles Borromeo,
St. Rita and Assumption Of Our Lady.
Recording her first CD For His Glory was a wonderful experience. Her husband was a constant source of strength to
her. The song In the Garden is dedicated to her father. The example of her parents still inspires her today.
She sings to give glory to God, and the following line from Psalm 104 is one of her favourites!
"The glory of the Lord shall endure forever, The Lord shall rejoice in His works . . . I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live, I will sing praise to my God while I have my being"
Ps. 104:31, 33
You can hear three tracks of Dawn's on Maltanetworkresources Internet radio Songs of Praise: Be Thou My Vision, Ave Maria and The Old Rugged Cross.

My internet radio netcast was the first internet netcasting from Malta in the Maltese language, originally using Realaudio (a charismatic programme about Jesus Christ and healing - www.catholichealing.com, formerly www.tigisaltnatek.uu.mt since 1996/7) - basically the songs of praise internet radio now replaces that programme which I used to netcast).
