Remember that the limits are there for everyone’s benefit. But go ahead

with the discussion. I wish that discussions take place in a

constructive way, and try to keep them related to Malta [ the occasional

off topic thread is ok, perhaps you can use a subject ‘OT:’ .

It depends on the readership at the time, I think. Unless someone who

knows that particular subject happens to be on the mailing list or

to read the newsgroup, it won’t get many responses if any. You can always

try again later, who knows when someone else subscribes, it might be someone

interested in the subject.

As I said, the readership varies for various reasons, at times some

unsubscribe, at other others subscribe, during exams or during the

summer vacations etc students tend not to be active on mailing lists

and newsgroups etc. So don’t give up. If you give up then the whole

thing will be less useful.

The problem in attracting the attention of the many Maltese is mainly

how to get them attracted to a mailing list or to using a usenet newsgroup.

Some don’t like the mailing list version and don’t know how to use a

newsreader (there are solutions to this – various web sites like

Dejanews, MNR etc). Of course another reason is some are not that interested

in the subject at all which is a pity.
